Week 1/52 - Baldy

Hiked up Baldy last week. No, I didn't hike in the dress - just slipped it on over my hiking clothes.

I didn't mean to take this many photos, or match them up with so many different lyrics.

I'd been dreaming of shooting up there for so long. I had so many ideas and phrases from songs that have touched me recently and as I was processing these, it all came flowing out.  It was freeing, it was beautiful, it was satisfying, and it was 3am. 
To be completely honest I've never been this in love with my photography before, God did something awesome.

 Probably helps that I love hiking.  You really can't beat the view from the top of a mountain. 
Sometimes I feel like Pocahontas at the top of the waterfall. ...but I never jump.
I love the wind, the sun, the water, the green. It just makes me come alive. Like music.
Somehow it all combined into these photos that I've been posting this week. 
I thought about just posting them all at once but they each needed their moment even though they're so similar. 
It won't be this long every week, promise! Guess I just had so much pent up it had to all come out at once. (:

Jess's Portraits

Another Father's Day surprise that I put off posting ;) snuck out with Jess (fellow photographer!) for a short (insanely buggy - you could not stand still for more than 2 seconds at once. Which we did.) but successful shoot in her dreamy dress!  Had some fun with some sweet poses, and I heard Mr.Jennings liked them too ;) 

Villarreal Family

Somehow we managed to meet on the only cloudy day out of weeks of gorgeous sun, but that didn't stop the loveliness of this session!  Shoutout to my fabulous assistant Anna Claire who was such a help with the little ones - she was definitely the favorite ;) 

Sweet girls + curls + deep, dark eyes + handsome guys = this beautiful little family.

Me too guys, don't forget me!

Beranek Wedding

Wanted to share a few (okay, maybe more than a few...) favorites from a wedding that I had the privilege of second-shooting with Jess Jennings from Simply Creative Photography back in February.  It was a beautiful wedding and I'm having flashbacks of how cold it was!  I am so grateful to have been able to be a part of this wonderful day (:
