Personal - Here is Home // Ktown

if it takes two, I'm betting on you
to hold me when the tides are high
even if you stay or if you go
I know you know that here is home

-"Here is Home" by Ryn Weaver

A while back we took a family vacation back to the little fishing town where I was born, and it was a whole new glimpse of Alaskan beauty for me. It was also a special time for me to be able to watch my parents reminisce in the place where they met and raised my brother and I when we were wee little people. (: Here are a few of the photos I took over the weekend! Until next time, Ketchikan.

it was gorgeous and foggy one moment, and then gorgeous and sunny the next

little fish jumping way out there (:

Eric & Mariah // Engaged

A few months ago, Eric and Mariah went out to dinner to celebrate their third anniversary. After dinner that night as they were sitting on the couch, he got down on one knee and the rest is history.

I had the pleasure of shooting with this couple out in nature about a year ago, so we decided to switch it up and head downtown anchorage for a more urban feel. It was quite the adventure as we traveled around town hitting all the locations at the perfect time. Let me tell you, there will be no shortage of laughter in their future!

Eric & Mariah, thanks for a grand time and congratulations to you both!

David & Rebecca // Hines Wedding

When they started talking about a year ago, I don't think even David and Rebecca could've pictured how beautiful this day would be. She was from California and moved to Alaska; he was from Georgia, born and raised. But what God joins together, let no man part asunder.

Everything about this day was sweet and personal. From the DIY table decorations to the heartfelt vows they wrote for each other, all the work that was put into preparation paid off. Grandpa performed the ceremony; there was hardly a dry eye as the couple recounted God's hand in the timeline of their relationship, and looked forward to His continued guidance as they promised each other faithfulness in the best and the worst of times. It was a small, intimate wedding, which I think is especially beautiful. Looking around at the reception, every person there was meaningful in the lives of the couple.

David and Rebecca, thank you so much for letting me a part of your special day and showing such an example of Christ's love for each other and those close to you. Best wishes to you in your future life together!

Thank you to Anna Claire from AC Photography for second shooting!
